guest post by winston stewart

Guest post from: Winston Stewart

We bought a new house around this time last year and I’ve never been happier. There were a lot of things to do before we moved in but aside from packing, we couldn’t have cared less! We set up most of the utilities ahead of time including electric and Wireless Internetwhich was good since we didn’t have time to deal with it on move in day.

So far we’ve done a lot of minor improvements on the house including putting in an electric fence for a new dog. Once we have our first child we’ll have to turn the guest room into a nursery but for now it’s just got a futon and a desk to do work at home.

The kitchen still needs some TLC and we’re preparing to t! ake down the wallpaper and paint the cabinets one weekend soon. The people who lived here before us didn’t exactly have the same taste that we do! The yard looks great thanks to our new lawn service and we can’t wait for spring when the flowers are blooming!

Get More Traffic From Bloggers And Better Search Engine Traffic - Be Followed

Here’s a very simple traffic method for anyone who has their own web site, not just a person who has a blog.

1. Find the DoFollow Bloggers.

2. Participate in their communities. But alas, Simple is not the same thing as Easy. We shall come back to that point momentarily.

First, let’s talk about why you should support DoFollow communties. DoFollow blogs manually remove the Nofollow attribute that prevents your site from getting full link benefits from the search engines. So when you comment at a DoFollow site and leave your link, you could get a link back that not only sends traffic, but increases your number of external backlinks, which can help increase your search engine ranking, as well as your relevance on sites like Technorati.

Now, here we are, back at the simple is not easy thing. Look at number two again. Note how it doesn’t say leave a drive-by comment whose only purpose is to have a link back to you that contains your keyword. :) It says Participate in their communities. Why the distinction?

I'm a DoFollow blogger, so I can tell you. DoFollow bloggers aren’t looking for comments on the cheap. Do we want more comments? Sure. But if that’s all we wanted, we’d let the borderline spam flow. We’d then look like we were a popular blog without actually being one, which, let’s face it, could give us the bump we’d need to make the site popular. Not to mention that it’s a lot less work.

So why don't we do this? Because some of us changed our blogs back to DoFollow to make a point about how "Nofollow" doesn't prevent spam, and hurts our fellow bloggers. The commenting system is a reciprocal relationship in our eyes and many of us believe that fellow bloggers and webmasters especially should get something in return for taking the time to comment. And yet, spam posters try to make it look like they’re doing us some kind of favor by leaving their junk on our sites and cluttering up our experience for the rest of our community.

I know, it’s tempting to leave a generic comment to get more links, and it works on a minority of bloggers. To avoid having yourself lumped in with those people, really think about a brief comment, make it relevant to the discussion and see if you can’t form a relationship with that blogger. Because it’s not actually the comment that is really the traffic jackpot. You may end up forming an alliance with a blogger whose blog you comment on frequently. That may mean that they feature you in a blog post, or that you have a future partnership that leads to an increase in revenue to your company. Either way the benefits will always be greater if you respect the etiquette of the blogosphere.

So don’t make this classic newbie mistake - realize that not only are the bloggers real people, so are the members of their community. Be one of the good guys and prepare to reap the rewards of it.

Responsible Effective Blog Commenting

Placing comments on blogs can be effective in terms of directing folks to your own blog or website. As it is a privilege to be able to blog for business, it is prudent to be respectful and helpful to the blog and its readers. Also, it is important to find topics/posts where you really care about joining the conversation.

Here are a few guidelines to use when commenting on the blogs of others, especially those in your field:

a. If you are new to blog commenting (newbie), do not hold back from commenting, even if you think you do not know enough to comment intelligently. Go with your gut impressions or instincts if you think your spontaneous opinion is not an informed one.

b. Let the blog author know what you appreciated about their posting(s). Perhaps give reasons why you agree or disagree with something. You could let them know why you believe the topic is important in your blog comment.

c. If you are going to disagree, first check to see if someone else has already done so from your perspective. If you need to criticize, do so in a respectful manner. Do not comment in a caustic way or you will only invite a hostile retort on your own blog. You can disagree with an idea or opinion without attacking the person who holds it.

d. Let the blog owner know a topic for which you would like to see more posts.

e. Contribute something that would benefit readers. Perhaps you can help others benefit from your experiences. Perhaps you can inspire readers in some way. Do not be afraid to reveal something about yourself that lets readers know more about who you are. It is not just about blogging for business. Blogging is supposed to be like enjoyable conversation.

f. Create a profile on your own blog(s). When you set up a profile, you bring a human quality to your blog. When you post anonymously or without a name, you lose so much potential to have folks participate in your blog’s conversation.

Make Blog Commenting Your Best Work At Home Ideas

Link management plays an important part in how successful your home business can become in internet marketing. It is also very relevant to every marketer's desire to achieve high search engine ranking in Google, Yahoo and other top search engines. In my other articles, I mentioned that it is important to get quality links related to your work at home business. While this remains true, it is also imperative that we find the best way to get this done easily, painlessly and preferably getting result exceeding our expectation. This article shows you how blog commenting can become your best work at home ideas for your business.

Blog Commenting

Blog commenting is considered one of the easiest ways to get free one way links to your website. All that is required of you is simply leave a comment on related business blogs and include some anchor text linking back to your site. While we do recognize that link building is important to your business, you will need to exercise good time management as there are also other equally important tasks demanded of you from your work at home business. For some marketers, finding related blogs to comment is a very tedious task which is time consuming and hard to justify doing it unless of course, if you have discovered a smarter way of doing this.

What Blog Commenting Software Does

One good solution to this labour intensive task is to purchase a good blog comment software. A typical software will trawl through Google listings for a supplied keyword search terms (e.g. small home business, work at home ideas, affiliate program etc), then lists out thousands of related blogs accepting comments. As there are 11 blog platforms including wordpress, blogspot, you can easily obtain a massive list of blog urls ready for you to post your comments to.

The software generates a listing of thousands of blog types by the selected page rank within a few minutes after you key in your keyword search terms. Simply clicking each link takes you to the page listed to do your blog comment posting. Just imagine the hours of time you actually gained back to really focus on your small home business.

If you do this diligently and consistently, you should see good results. If you have a new website, this could help you get indexed in search engines in a matter of days and for more seasoned internet marketers it could well mean better search engine ranking and a higher page rank on your sites. It is no big secret that having more one way links to your site from similarly themed websites will enable your websites attain better search engine ranking.

What Is Considered Good Software
The attributes of a good blog comment software are:

a. It's simple, easy to use and with good presentation

b. it provides training videos on how to use, what to /how to comment on blogs, and which blogs are worth commenting.

c. it provides excellent customer service on your queries, attended by efficient support staff who provide their names (as opposed to getting a mail reply from 'service support staff' from others that I came across).

d. able to filter out blog urls which have 'no follow through' and set up to prevent spamming.

e. 8-weeks money back guarantee

In Search of Quality Links

When looking for links to your website the best ones are:

Free
One Way
On pages with good Page Rank
On topic
Relevant anchor text
Can point to any page in your website

A blog comment software is an excellent tool that can provide one of the best work at home ideas for your small home business. It may not be as well known compared to article submitter, or directory submitter, but will soon become a basic tool for all serious internet marketers. It may be a new revolution in the making which offers excellent help in link management and the domination for high search engine ranking.

Better Back Links through Comments

If you have been attempting to gain better back links for your blog or website you may have learned one of the best and easiest ways is leaving comments on blogs with similar niches.

What many don’t know is that many blogs have a code inside of the source code called a “no follow code”. Basically the site has a no follow tag and a back link will not be developed for your site. This is the standard code for most blogs. The webmaster has to remove this code snippet or information in order for you to gain a back link for your blog.

Google, Yahoo and Bing all originated the no follow tag codes. Their intentions were good. The no follow eliminates spam from being created for a lot of website and blog owners. However, times are changing and many blogs are becoming do follow; they will create back links for your blog. If the blog owner does determine your comment is spam in anyway, they will delete the link as well as your post and you will not receive a back link.

Blog commenting is a great strategy for developing back links, but is very time consuming. Manually doing all of this work will not guarantee your hard work will pay off. You want to leave informative comments so you will need to read the blog. Leaving informative, detailed comments is a way to add to the likelihood of your comment not being deleted as spam.

Don’t consider using a back tracking software to leave hundreds of comments for you. This will definitely thwart your efforts because the search engines look for and flag these little buggers and will penalize your blog for using them. Some sites have been banned from the search engines for using them. Don’t go this direction for attempting to build back links.

This doesn’t necessarily mean that you shouldn’t leave comments on blogs. Most blogs will even notify you that if you follow, they will follow.
A better strategy is selecting blogs that you feel your readers would gain a benefit from and adding an honest comment with a link to your blog. Whether these blogs are do follow or no follow should not affect whether you leave a comment.

Leave comments on do follow and no follow blogs. Search engines are looking for blogs that have all do follow links and may suspect your site of attempting to “cheat” the search engines in error and penalize you in error. Naturally flowing, no blog or site will have all do follow or all no follow links. They will have a little of both.

Are Your Readers Commenting or Venting?

Commenting takes place when a reader/commenter has read a post that you’ve written and posted on your site or blog and would like to provide a positive level of feedback.

Venting is occurring when a commentor has taken a strong position or stand that is emotional concerning the subject matter. They have focused personally on you with their comments or other commenters on your blog. Animosity is being felt toward the messenger instead of the message.

Both of these types of comments can be displayed on your site or blog. However, decide what message you are trying to convey to your reader before putting either on your site or blog.

The commentator
This is a reader that is reading your post or article and wants to share with you how they have evaluated the information. They may share feelings. However, these are basic likes, dislikes, wants or needs specific to the content. They are focused on the subject and generally not he writer or person sharing the information
Comments are typically simple, well thought out commentaries of your article or post. They may comment on how well written the article was or how many points of different matter were displayed. They are commenting on the story and don’t get personally invested or tied to the writer or other commenters on your site or blog.

The venter
Venting comments are chocked full of emotion. The commenter can sometimes be so full of emotion over a subject that you have written about; they are unable to put all of their effort in the small space allotted. Examples, titles, personal names and references to other articles, blogs or events are generally included in their feedback.

Those readers that vent many times are in "attack mode". The attack mode characteristically is directed at the writer rather than the subject matter. They will go after the author of the content or other commenters that have left their comment on the subject matter.

Venting can be well and good in the correct place and time. However, website or blog comments are not necessarily the way to do it. If you have strong opinions on a subject matter or an article you identified on a site, you should write your own article concerning the issue. You can display your opinions in a format that will reach a larger audience than a comment does.

In addition to reaching a larger audience, an article or blog post will be read by more than a single comment. This is a great way to get your individual point of view to a more readers.

Comments for your articles are terrific because it means your audience is engaged in the information you are writing about. However, moderation of comments is a good thing because you want comments that are going to help drive traffic to your blog or site. There are some comments that can drive traffic away from your site or blog.
